Kitty Bed

Here is another project I'm working on right now. It's going to be a bed for my cat, Belle Mini Mini Mango :) The crochet part will be the top of the pillow, and the other knit fabric you see here is a sweater that I got from a local second hand store that will become the back of the pillow. It will then fit inside a vintage suitcase that I'm going to add furniture legs to (and I've painted them the same colour as the turquoise center of the granny square). Fun! I will definitely post some pictures when it's all finished.

And here is a sneak peak of something new I'm learning right now. I will be posting what I've created with these new tools soon!

Crochet Basket

So, now that I'm crocheting up a storm, I figured I would kill two birds with one stone and crochet a basket to keep all my yarn in. For this basket I used "tshirt yarn" which I made out of some old tshirts that were lying around the house. I found tutorials on how to make tshirt yarn and the pattern for this basket on youtube.

Granny Square Obsession...

Soooo.... I have a new obsession: crochet!...and more specifically: crocheting granny squares! so much fun :) I've always loved seeing those retro granny square blankets full of so many colours, but never got around to learning how to make my own...until now. My grandma taught me how to knit when I was younger, but for some reason, I always found it so complicated and all I could ever manage to make were tapered and/or crooked scarves. I knew crochet was different than knitting, but had no idea in what way. So, since my grandma doesn't crochet, I decided to consult "grandma youtube". And voila! worked like a charm as always :) There are endless tutorials on youtube for crochet, but one channel that I found particularly helpful was Bethintx1. This is a project I am working on right now that will eventually become a throw pillow for my living room :)

E-Reader Case

This is a soft case for my Kobo e-reader that I made quite a while ago (so it's a bit worn in now after so much use!) The inside is lined with felt, as well as the heart on the outside.

Plush Jackalope

Well, it's been a while since I've posted on here, but I've still been creating things, so I thought I'd better post an update on what I've been working on! This is a cute little stuffed jackalope toy that I made recently. I made my own pattern and used only fat quarters that I had lying around (so it was a bit of a challenge to keep it small enough to fit all the pattern pieces on 1 fat quarter, but I did it). I like how it turned out but next time I will probably put some interfacing in the ears!
